4 cups flour 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 3 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons shortening 1 1/4 cup milk (might need more or less) oil for frying
Mix all ingredients together except for the oil needed for frying. Let stand for 1 hour. Form into golf ball sized balls, the roll out like you would a tortilla. Make a slit in the center with a knife. Fry in hot oil.
You can just serve with butter along side your favorite dish. OR You can use as a base for tacos ~ its great this way. OR You can spread butter then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
