4 pounds spareribs 1/4 cup vinegar 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon prepared mustard 1 1/2 teasp salt 1/2 teasp black pepper 1/4 teasp cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 onion chopped 1/2 cup ketchup 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 Tablespoons butter optional 1 1/2 liquid smoke optional splash of beer
Mix all the ingredient from vinegar to ketchup and bring to a boil lower heat, simmer for 20 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce and any of the optional items. Place ribs in a roasting pan cover with tin foil and bake at 425 oven for 45 minutes. Pour off excess grease. Pour on half of barbecue sauce and reduce heat to 350 Baste with additional sauce and bake for 1 hour longer or until ribs are nicely browned and fork tender.
To grill marinate ribs for 1 hour or longer in sauce basting often.
