3 1/2 cups water - divided 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
Combine 2 1/2 cups water and salt into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Mix cornmeal with remaining water in a bowl.
Slowly add the cornmeal mixture into the boiling water. Reduce the heat to low, continue to stir until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
Pour into a loaf pan and let refrigerate until set or about 1 hour. Remove from pan and slice into 1/2 slices.
Fry slices in lightly greased fry pan until browned on each side.
