3 cups flour 2/3 cups milk lukewarm 1/3 cup sugar 1 package active dry yeast 8 tablespoons butter 1 egg powdered sugar
Mix flour yeast and sugar together. Melt butter and mix with milk. Add the egg and beat until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place until the dough doubles in size. Punch the dough down and place in a greased 10 inch spring form pan. Let rise one more time until the dough doubles in size.
Topping: 2 sticks unsalted butter 1 cup sugar 1 1/3 cup sliced almonds 2 tablespoons milk
Melt butter in skillet and then add the sugar. Let simmer until almonds turn a golden brown. Take off heat and add the milk. Then let cook for 5 more minutes. Spread this on top of the dough once it is lukewarm.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Take out of the spring form pan and let cool. Slice the cake in half so you have two layers.
Filling: 1 1/2 cups milk 1 package vanilla pudding
Prepare the pudding and spread over the bottom layer of the cake. Top with the top layer. The top layer is the one with the almonds on it. Sprinkle with powered sugar
