1 stick melted butter 1 (2-layer size) package yellow cake mix or german chocolate cake mix 8 ounces cream cheese 1 pound powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13-by-9-by-2-inch baking pan.
Mix butter and dry cake mix together. Press into the pan.
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla and eggs until well blended. Add pecans. Spread over the butter and cake mix mixture.
Bake 35-45 minutes. Cake will be a golden color. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
