1 3/4 cups sugar 1 cup softened butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 4 eggs 3 cups flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 21 ounce can cherry pie filling ~ can use apple
Glaze: 1 cup powered sugar 1 - 2 tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a jellyroll pan 15 x 10.
In a large bowl, cream together, sugar, butter and vanilla, until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Gradually add the flour one cup at a time, add baking powder., blend well.
Spread 2/3 of the batter into the pan. Spread the pie fulling over the batter. Drop the remaining cake batter over the pie filling. Bake for 35- 45 minutes. Cool completely. Make glaze and drizzle over cake.
